Offline CAN log analysis
CAN log analyser for ASC and BLF files.
Understand what happened in a recorded CAN session. Open an ASC or BLF file and map the matching DBC definitions to each channel to decode signal values. Filter the trace, compare the latest frame per message, plot decoded signals, run recording checks and inspect unknown frame IDs. Your recordings are processed locally in the same desktop app you use to view, edit and compare DBC files.

Illustrative values, not an app capture or measured result. Use your DBC mapping to interpret recorded frames.
Built for the task
Decode CAN recordings with your DBC files.
- Switch between all frames and the latest frame per message while filtering recorded traffic.
- Inspect unknown frame IDs, run recording checks, and measure decoded signal plots.
- Configure channels and DBC mappings for multi-source sessions.
Your workflow

- 01
Open an ASC or BLF file in Log Analyzer.
- 02
Map the required DBC files and configure channels.
- 03

Questions about CAN log analysis.
Check supported recording formats, DBC mapping requirements and the tools available for reviewing decoded traffic.
Read the complete guideWhich CAN log formats can I open?
DBC Utility v2.0.5 supports recorded ASC and BLF files. Open a recording in Log Analyzer to review its trace and map your DBC definitions.
Why do I need to map DBC files and channels?
DBC definitions describe how frame data becomes signal values. Map the correct database revision to each recorded channel so the analyser uses the right messages, scaling and signal definitions. Correct decoding depends on those definitions and mappings.
Can I plot decoded CAN signals?
Yes. Plot signals on a shared time axis, use overlay or stacked lanes, and measure time and values with A/B cursors. Trace filters, Per message view, and unknown-ID inspection help focus the session.
Can I export signals or encode CAN logs?
Signal export and log encoding are not included in v2.0.5. The log analyser is for inspecting recorded traffic, decoded signals, plots, checks, and statistics.
Are my CAN recordings processed locally?
Yes. Log analysis runs on your computer and your recordings stay local. Licensing, downloads, updates, checkout and support need internet access.
